About

My name is Keshia Lockett

For the past seven years, I’ve dedicated my work to uplifting, educating, and advocating for Black birthing families. As a birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, and business owner, my passion has always been about more than just birth, it’s about community, empowerment, and access to quality care.

Through my work with Empowered Black Doula, I’ve provided hands-on support to families, trained aspiring doulas, and created resources to make birth education more accessible. My journey has led me to speak at community events, host workshops, and be a guest speaker at panels focused on birth equity and reproductive justice.

In 2023, I launched The Black Doula Tour, traveling to different cities to connect with birth workers, share knowledge, and amplify the voices of Black doulas nationwide. Whether through mentorship, education, or business coaching, I remain committed to helping doulas build sustainable businesses while continuing to serve their communities.

Now, as I transition into a new season, my focus is on expanding my impact in new ways, through digital education, training programs, and community-based initiatives that empower birth workers everywhere. Birth work isn’t just what I do, it’s who I am.
